I love these things, they take all the guess work out of making an egg the way you want it. When you want soft or medium with little yolk, you can’t beat this thing. Large pot, small pot, High Heat, low heat, two dozen eggs, one egg, it makes no difference this timer is always dead on.

I’ve used this egg timer for years and I love it.
For various reasons I didn’t cook any hard boiled eggs for a while and I couldn’t find my egg timer when I recently wanted to use it. So, I bought a new one from Luxenmart and it works perfectly. (It does not have any smell that some purchasers have complained about.)
Of course, I probably don’t have to tell you that about two weeks after I received the new egg timer, I found my old one. 🙂

Super thing! Just do not forget to put it into refrigerator with your eggs so they would be the same temperature before coocking.,

Excellent quality.

the pointer is ok, it shows nicely, as far as the egg is being cooked, I recommend it, it’s a pity that it can not be connected to a smartphone to show everything on the phone: P

Here is a tip to prevent your eggs from cracking when you boil them; After placing them in cold water, bring the water to a boil. Then, turn the heat down enough so that the water stays hot but it is no longer boiling. Leave the eggs in the hot water until they are cooked which takes about 12 to 16 minutes to make hard boiled eggs. Alternatively, if you don’t want to stand at the stove waiting for the water to come to a boil, you can bring the water to a boil, then turn down the heat and place the eggs in the hot water. Do not turn the heat completely off and leave the eggs in the hot water. If you turn the heat completely off, it’ll take too long for the eggs to cook

Love these. I bought several last Christmas for all my children and nieces. Especially useful if you want your eggs soft-boiled.
Just treat it like an egg. Put it in the pot with the room-temperature water, like the rest of the eggs, “cook” it with the eggs, and cool it down like the eggs. Very accurate. You’ll quickly learn how its markings relate to how you like your eggs. Take notes!
One caveat: It’s really a ‘Doneness Indicator”, not a timer. It doesn’t have a bell or a time to set. It just indicates the heat transfer into an egg to indicate doneness.

This is actually my 2nd time purchasing this item – this time as a gift for a friend. I have owned the other one for about 4 years and it still works as it did on day one. Simple design where the red coloring along the scale disappears as the eggs cook. It’s a little hard to read in boiling water, so I take it out for a second with a fork to check on it. I take my eggs out when the mark is a hair under “medium”. This will make the yolk soft rather than chalky, literally every time.

Seriously, this is a great product. We have a few of them in different kitchens, and I find them the best tool for delivering properly hard cooked eggs. Although it’s labeled as a “timer” it actually uses a layer of color changing crystals (the red layer in the plastic shell) to measure the temperature gradient as the material is heated by the water.
