This was very interesting to watch. The tree is the basically stiff paper that mounts into a plastic base. You pour the solution into the base and the ‘tree’ soaks up the solution. This creates the crystals as it grows. Was very neat – not expensive and was lots of fun!

The finished product looks just like the product photo. My 4-year-old daughter loves the tree and enjoyed looking at the crystals that fell off under the microscope.
