My son gave me my Slap Chop two Christmases ago and I still use it regularly. It’s great for chopping or mincing veggies (onions, oh yeah!) and chopping nuts, also. The key to keeping food from getting caught in the blades is to make sure the plastic blade guide is on – it pushes the food out of the blades when they are retracted. Without the plastic blade guard, it doesn’t work properly. It is also a breeze to clean. The only complaint I would have is if I have a lot of chopping to do, my hand gets tired from slapping the chopper down. But, that isn’t often. It really surprised me how much I love and use something that I’ve seen on a silly informercial, but I do!

Great chopper for coarsely to finely grated veggies, fruits, cheese etc….. whatever you need it for. Better than a food processor because the food gets chopped but not liquefied.

I am replacing one I bought on TV yeas ago. Works great. I like that you do not have to use the bottom black cup and can chop directly on a cutting board and chop more produce at a time. Would not recommend putting any parts in the dishwasher.

This is the second slap chop I have bought–the first in 2007. I finally chopped up the plastic shield that went with the first one. The slap chop is my go-to tool for chopping vegetables and nuts–and so handy. I keep it where I can just pull it out when needed. Easy to clean. And I think this one may be sturdier than my first.
